Regionals and Thanks

So regionals was today and the kids did great. They got straight twos. That is an excellent rating. Would have loved ones, but twos are good. We didn't get the dreaded rainbow that I feared. The kids are great and I am very proud of them I can't believe that marching season is actually over. When I was in school marching season wasn't over until the first weekend in December with the 4 parades in one day. I am happy we don't do street marching anymore. Granted we have the town Christmas parade but that is the last marching excursion of the year. We will start concert season before we know it.

As I sit here I start to think of our little community of band directors and how even though we are competitors we can still help out when needed. One of our wonderful percussionists forgot to grab our cymbal bag so we ran around like crazy people asking directors if we could borrow just one set. We went to Joe, well his drum captain, and we were allowed to borrow at least one set to get us by. While we were running around one of our band parents was driving as safely and quickly as he could to get us ours. Because of these two men we had both cymbal sets on the field. Thank you Joe and Travis for helping us out today. There are extra jewels in your crowns in heaven.

I love my community of band directors and band parents who will go out of their way to help out when help is needed and when they can.
